• Confirm the total gross salaryIs the quoted figure monthly or annual? Does it include holiday allowance? Ask for a total annual amount and confirm whether a bonus or thirteenth month is guaranteed.
• Check the pension on both sidesAsk for the annual employee contribution deducted from pay and the employer contribution paid into your pension. Enter them separately in the calculator.
• Get the ruling agreement in writingWill the employer support an application, what exemption will it pay, and what happens when the award ends? Ask it to check your residence history and any special conditions.
• Budget for health insuranceThe basic premium is paid separately from payroll. The calculator's national average is an estimate: replace it in your own budget with the premium you choose, and consider the excess and any healthcare allowance.
• Read the employment termsCheck the contract duration, hours, holiday entitlement, probation, notice period and applicable collective agreement. Ask for any referenced pension or staff handbook.
• Clarify relocation supportAsk which moving costs are covered, when reimbursements arrive and whether you must repay them if you leave. Keep one-off reimbursements separate from recurring salary.
