Confirm the annual gross and the number of paymentsAsk whether the salary is paid in twelve or fourteen instalments and whether the two extra payments are part of the annual figure. The annual total is what matters.
Check the contract typeAn indefinite contract (contrato indefinido) and a temporary one are taxed the same, but they differ in notice, severance and stability.
Confirm which region you will live inHalf of your income tax is set by the autonomous community you live in, and the Basque Country and Navarre have their own systems.
Ask about the Beckham law in timeIf you are moving to Spain for this job, the impatriate regime has to be requested within six months of registering with Social Security. Ask whether your employer will support the application.

Check the collective agreementMany sectors have a convenio colectivo that sets minimum pay, working hours and extra payments. Ask which one covers the role.

What is a convenio colectivo?

A sector or company agreement between employers and unions that sets minimums for pay, hours and leave. Your contract cannot offer less than it does.

When do I have to apply for the Beckham law?

Within six months of the date you register with Spanish Social Security. Missing the deadline means the ordinary scales apply.
