Confirm the monthly salarySwedish offers quote a månadslön. Multiply it by twelve for the annual figure, and ask whether any bonus or allowance is guaranteed.
Ask whether a collective agreement appliesMost employers are bound by a kollektivavtal, which usually brings an occupational pension, insurance and extra holiday pay. Ask which one and what it provides.
Ask about the occupational pensionTjänstepension is paid by the employer on top of salary under most agreements. Ask how much is paid and into which plan.
Ask about the expert tax reliefSome foreign experts and researchers can have part of their income exempted for a limited time. It needs an application soon after starting and is not modelled here.
Register with SkatteverketRegister as resident and get a personnummer if you will stay a year or more. Until then, different tax rules may apply.

Questions before you sign

What is semesterersättning?

Holiday pay on top of your salary during paid leave, set by law and often improved by collective agreements. It is not part of the salary figure.

Do I have to pay church fee?

Only if you are a member of the Church of Sweden or another registered faith community that collects it through the tax system.
